Principles of Animation

The following mini lesson is made to show, in a practical way, the most important sequences of architectural animation steps. With this lesson you’ll learn how to attract the camera movement most used in architectural routes, which is the movement of the camera through the space, we assume the domain of 5SRW because we focus 100% to the subject of animation, but you can check using the same in the scene..

In the following video you will learn how to move the camera to create animations like “Fly-Through”, let’s start:

  • Make a preplanning to study how will be your animation;
  • Always apply 5SRW knowledge;
  • Use Keys as “check points” in your animation;
  • Use Curve Editor for VRayPhysicalCamera speed animation settings;
  • Use NTSC o PAL according to the speed you need;

Remember that when you animate your VRayPhysicalCamera, by default it will have an acceleration and deceleration, which most of the times is undesirable. For a smooth and constant movement go to the Graph Editors Menu, then select Track View-Curve Editor and click on the icon “Set tangents to linear”.

Practice these principles by creating a simple scene, make camera and object movements until you have fixed the concepts; although it seems simple is very important that you have understood and controlled this part before taking the next step.

Have a complete control from the start, in an animation, is very important to achieve an optimal outcome.
